MILAN-L.J. Williams, 91, retired MAAP employee, died March 12 at his home.

Graveside services were March 15 at Oakwood Cemetery. Bodkin Funeral Home had charge.

He was a WWII Army veteran, a member of First Baptist Church, Milan, the Collins Bonds Sunday School class, the Milan Masonic Lodge #191 in Milan, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4780 in Milan.

Mr. Williams, the husband of Lillian "Billie" Williams, also leaves two daughters, Sherry Whitby and husband Danny of Milan and Jaylynn White and husband Dennis of Brandon, MS; a brother, Thomas Williams of Bruceton; a sister, Rose Mary Hood of Dickson and three grandchildren, Jon Jay Whitby of Memphis, Elizabeth White and Caroline White, both of Brandon, MS. Graveside service for Ms. Lillian "Billie" Williams, age 91 of Milan, will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery.

Ms. Williams was born on November 8, 1926 to George Dale and Mary Tommy Lawton Cox Singletary. She was a member of the Milan First Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband L. J. Williams, a brother Bert Singletary and a sister Mardeen LaFeisty. She is survived by two daughters Sherry Whitby (David) of Milan and Carrie Jaylynn White (Dennis) of Brandon, MS, three grandchildren Jon Whitby of Memphis, Elizabeth White and Caroline White both of Brandon, MS and a brother Monty Singletary (Lilly) of Weatherford, TX.
